K9 LTD Digital Art Test

Scarlet Witch redesign for an External Art Test by K9 Digital. I decided to redesign Wanda Maximoff as we were given the prompt to make a bust of a hero or villain. I chose her because I think her Romani origins are never really shown or adequately represented in comics or the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With thorough research, I incorporated as many elements of the culture as I could in order to make a design that, whilst functional, still pays tribute to her roots.
Particularly, I decided to have her don gold jewellery items, including the element of coins, that each feature a design; depicting her classic comic symbol, a Romanian coin from the 1930s (as her mother lived there at that time) and the Chakra symbol, which is the only symbol attributed to the Romani.
As for the illustration, I decided to pay homage to original ink comic art, as it's a form of illustration I've been exposed to and has influenced me aplenty growing up.
